December started out with dusting off our Advent calendar and stuffing it with chocolate goodies. The twins get to alternate nights on opening the doors. There were 4 treats in each door, 1 for each of us. I asked Tom if he wanted odds or evens. Tom sat there for a long while and asked which one had more doors to open. I lied and told him they were both the same. Then he saw the number 25 door in all its larger than the rest of the doors glory and simply asked if 25 was odd or even. After I told him 25 was odd that sealed the deal. He gloated the entire month that he gets to open the largest door on the box when Christmas finally arrived.
One Sunday morning Abby was perusing the toy store advertisements and found stuffed dogs for sale. There were 4 of them in the picture so she got it absolutely stuck in her brain to insist on asking Santa for 4 stuffed dogs. If you have seen her bed you would know why I was hesitant to encourage this behavior. Her bed is FULL of stuffed animals. They take up more room than her little 35 pound body does. Well, Santa heard her loud and clear and obliged. I have to say, she hasn't let them out of her sight since. She teaches them to play fetch, feeds them, makes them take naps and dresses them. They certainly are her favorite gift this year!
