Tom and Abby are 4.5 years old today! Unfortunately, we spent a lot of time this month sick with the flu. Everyone is back to feeling happy and healthy as we embark on a 2 week spring break from preschool.
The twins get along great as always, but I think they are starting to understand sarcasm and teasing. We were driving around this week when all of the sudden, at the top of his lungs, Tom starts singing, "I LOVE TALKING TO ABBY!" over and over again. Then every once in awhile you hear Abby announce, "Tom, I'm shutting my window. Stop talking to me, I can't hear you." as she pretends to roll up a window between them in the back of the car. And she was serious! Keep in mind they are about a half arms length away from one another. This banter went on for a good 20 minutes.
Abby is finally becoming more independent and not quite so much Tom's pushover. Since they were infants, if Tom wanted a toy she was holding, Tom got the toy without conflict. As they grew older, Tom would ask Abby to do things and she always complied. Recently, Abby has decided that if she doesn't want to play the game Tom wants to play it's ok and she'll tell him no. I'm so proud of her! However, this has resulted in crying fits from Tom, even in public, but he eventually gets over it.
