Planet Pluto

Tom announced this evening, "Hey guys! Did you know Pluto is not a planet anymore? He's too small to be a planet." He told us Miss Phala shared this tid bit of information with him at preschool.

Paul and I were duly impressed. They're teaching about the solar system in preschool? We're definitely getting our money's worth!

Then it occurred to me, maybe... just maybe, Tom is not talking about the planet Pluto. So I asked him,

"Um Tom, what color is pluto?"

His response, "Yellow."

Indeed. Pluto is yellow.

Yes, sassy is taller than the boys, by about two inches. They are short AND fat, LOL.

How are you doing my friend?

It's good the teacher was not talking about the Pluto in the solar system because that Pluto very much still IS a planet. Many professional astronomers do not accept the controversial demotion of Pluto by four percent of the International Astronomical Union in 2006, as it is based on a sloppy, linguistically nonsensical planet definition and is likely to be overturned.
